Biography:
Andy Evans has always been enthusiastic about classical music; he played the clarinet and later the horn. After the death of his father in 1999 he began to compose. He wrote works for orchestras, bands and chamber musicians in Nottingham, where he lived until 2009. His suite for thirteen winds was published in 2008. He was a prizewinner in the composition competition organized by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the National Gallery of Scotland. Andy Evans' music is accessible, tonal and influenced by modern jazz. He is Professor of Breast Cancer Radiology at Dundee University.
