Biography:
Arnulf Herrman, born in Heidelberg in 1968, studied composition and music theory with Wilfried Krätzschmar and Jörg Herchet in Dresden, with Gérard Grisey and Emmanuel Nunes in Paris and with Friedrich Goldmann and Gösta Neuwirth in Berlin. In 1999/2000 he had a DAAD postgraduate scholarship for a course at IRCAM in Paris; He then studied with Hanspeter Kyburz in Berlin until 2002. He has received numerous awards: e.g. Hanns-Eisler-Prize, Composition Prize of the City of Stuttgart, »International Rostrum of Composers«, Music Promotion Prize of the Berlin Art Prize. Since 2004 he has been a lecturer in composition and instrumentation at the Hanns Eisler Academy in Berlin.
