Biography:
Claudia Barainsky is internationally regarded as one of the most versatile artists in her field. She studied singing at the Berlin University of the Arts with Ingrid Figur, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Aribert Reimann. In 1994 she made her debut at the Saxon State Opera in Dresden; A worldwide career followed: she made guest appearances at the opera houses in Amsterdam, Avignon, Brussels, Dresden, Hamburg, Leipzig, Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart, Tokyo and appeared at international festivals: Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals, Lincoln Center Festival, Ruhrtriennale.
Her wide-ranging repertoire includes works from all eras of musical theater. Concert arias, the soprano parts of the great oratorios and the great orchestral songs are just as much on their program as unusual works that composers write especially for them.
