Biography:
Daniel Erdman, born in Wolfsburg in 1973, has been playing the saxophone since 1983. From 1994 to 1999 he studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and in 2001 received a working grant from the Franco-German Cultural Council. Since then he has been commuting between Berlin and Paris. Since 1999 he has recorded various CDs under his own name for Enja Records, ACT and INTAKT.
Erdmann is a co-founder and member of the band DAS KAPITAL, with which he received the German Record Critics' Annual Prize in 2011. He played throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Daniel Erdmann works with the choreographer Joshua Bisset as well as with the filmmakers Nicolas Humbert and Martin Otter. Festival appearances: North Sea Jazz Festival, Banlieues Bleues, Jazzfest Berlin and Taktlos Zürich, among others.
