Biography:
Daniel Osorio, born in Santiago de Chile in 1971, studied composition and electroacoustic music with Prof. Pablo Aranda at the Universidad de Chile. His thesis Iax-off deals with the extinction of the Yámana and their language and was released in 2004 on the CD »Iax-Aus Káitek«.
In 2005 Osorio went to Saarbrücken and completed his postgraduate studies in composition with honors under Prof. Theo Brandmüller and Prof. Dr. Stefan Litwin at the University of Music Saar. Daniel Osorio received a scholarship from the German Study Center in Venice, the scholarship from the state capital of Saarbrücken and the culture prize for music from the Saarbrücken regional association.
He is the founder and director of the festival "eviMus - Saarbrücken Days for Electroacoustic and Visual Music" and the ensemble "Die Cronopien - Collective for Intercultural New Music".
