Biography:
The German Chamber Philharmonic Bremen is one of the world's leading orchestras. The artistic director has been the Estonian star conductor Paavo Järvi since 2004.
The successes of this artistic connection speak for themselves. "The event of the summer" was the verdict of the New York Times in August 2005. For the daily newspaper Die Welt, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen is one of "the most transparent and sensitive orchestras currently available." And in 2007 The New York Sun praised it: "... the authoritative Beethoven orchestra of our days". The complete Beethoven symphony cycle at the 2009 Salzburg Festival caused a sensation at the festival and was hailed as "a miracle" (Salzburger Nachrichten).
The focus of the collaboration between Paavo Järvi and the orchestra - and thus the basis for these jubilant reviews - are the symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven. What might seem like simple routine regularly turns out to be a lively and highly competent new version of what has been heard so often in the concerts. The joint ›Beethoven Project‹, the performance of all of Ludwig van Beethoven's symphonies and their recording in the currently leading 5.1 DSD technology, reached its peak in 2009. In addition, the ›Schumann Project‹ has already started in 2009.
Together with Paavo Järvi and renowned guest conductors and soloists, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen can be heard at important festivals and concert stages in Germany and abroad. Again and again the orchestra inspires its audience with its unique and refreshing style of musical interpretation.
On this basis, long-term and fruitful musical friendships have developed with internationally renowned soloists such as Sabine Meyer, Viktoria Mullova, Heinz Holliger, Olli Mustonen, Hélène Grimaud, Heinrich Schiff, Janine Jansen and Christian Tetzlaff.
The orchestra's repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music. The cooperation with specialists of the respective genres is a characteristic cultivated from the beginning. For example, the cooperation B. with Ton Koopman and Trevor Pinnock just as naturally as with Heinz Holliger or Pierre Boulez.
