Ensemble SurPlus was formed in Freiburg in 1992 from the idea of having a pool of musicians with whom the interpretation of new and unknown compositions could be realized - regardless of their style and intellectual or technical requirements. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque period to music of the 20th century, with the focus of his artistic activity on contemporary music.Irmela Roelcke is another student of James Avery, who works with many renowned ensembles for new music, such as the ensemble Modern, the MusikFabrik NRW and the Pellegrini String Quartet. The pianist, whose repertoire ranges from Jean-Philipp Rameau to classical-romantic piano works and Claude Vivier, has initiated numerous projects for several pianos, including performances of compositions by Stefan Wolpe and Klarenz Barlow. Elmar comes along with the other guest pianists Schrammel from James Avery's school. He later studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Martin Hughes. In 2005 she received her concert maturity with distinction for new music at the Saar University of Music with Stefan Litwin and Yukiko Sugawara. He also took courses from Pierre Laurent Aimard, Herbert Henck and Christoph Keller.
