Biography:
ERIK BORGIR, son of a Norwegian family of musicians, spent his childhood in the USA. He has lived in Germany since completing his studies at the Oberlin Conservatory with Steven Doane and at the New England Conservatory with David Wells. As a sought-after soloist and chamber musician, he is a regular guest at the most important festivals for new music. He is one of the founding members of the ›ascolta‹ ensemble, one of the world's most renowned ensembles for contemporary music. Erik Borgir is a lecturer at the music academies in Lucerne and Trossingen and is a cellist in the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.
