Biography:

Franck Bedrossian, born in Paris in 1971, studied composition with Allain Gaussin and later at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris (Gérard Grisey, Marco Stroppa). In 2001/02 he attended the composition course for electronic music at IRCAM; Lessons from Philippe Leroux, Tristan Murail and Philippe Manoury. At the same time he attended courses with Helmut Lachenmann. In 2001 he received a grant from the Fondation Meyer and the Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet, in 2004 the Hervé Dugardin Prize from SACEM, in 2005 the Pierre Cardin Composition Prize from the Institut de France (Académie des Beaux-Arts) and in 2007 the Prize for Young Composers from SACEM . Since 2008, Franck Bedrossian has taught composition at the University of California, Berkeley.
