Biography:

Isabel Mundry, born in 1963 in Schluechtern/Hesse, studied composition with Frank Michael Beyer and Gösta Neuwirth as well as electronic music, musicology, art history and philosophy. From 1986 to 93 she taught composition and analysis at the Berlin Church Music School and at the Berlin University of the Arts. 1991-94 composition studies with Hans Zender in Frankfurt am Main. 1996 professor for composition and music theory at the Frankfurt University of Music; taught at the Japanese Akiyoshidai Festival and at the Darmstadt Summer Courses; since 2003 composition professor at the Musikhochschule Zürich; numerous scholarships and prizes, e.g. Boris Blacher Prize, Schneider Schott Prize, Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Prize.
