Biography:

The Belgian trumpeter Jeroen Berwaerts, born in 1975, deals with the repertoire of all eras, from baroque to contemporary music and jazz. Even before his studies in Karlsruhe with Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts was able to impress at various competitions such as the Concours Maurice André (1991) and the Concours Européen de Jeunes Trompettistes (1992). He also received an award at the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 1997. In the same year he received both second prize and the "Prix Feeling" for the best interpretation at the Concours Maurice André. He is a guest at internationally renowned festivals. In addition to his appearances as a soloist with well-known orchestras and conductors, Jeroen Berwaerts has been principal trumpeter with the NDR Symphony Orchestra since 2. Since 1999 he has been a professor for trumpet at the University of Music and Theater in Hanover.
