Biography:
Polish-born pianist currently residing in the United States Joanna Sobkowskaworked as a soloist, song accompanist and teacher in Europe, North and South America.
Her repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music, which is her special focus. She is an expert on the Polish avant-garde (the subject of her doctoral thesis at Florida State University), but also performs numerous American compositions.
She premiered Ladislav Kubík's »Concerto breve« for piano and orchestra, »Portrait« for piano and percussion and appeared in various performances of his chamber music and vocal works such as »Duo concertante« for violin and piano and »Triptych on texts by Franz Kafka« on.
