The Belgian pianist Johan Bossers, born in 1961, is an internationally sought-after specialist in contemporary music.
In 1987 he won the international competition for contemporary music "Orpheus" and became an assistant to his teachers Frédéric Gevers and Levente Kende at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. He was a co-founder of the ensemble Champ d'Action, played with various ensembles for contemporary music (e.g. Ictus, QO-2, Spectra, Collectief) and worked with large symphony orchestras in Belgium and as a répétiteur for the Brussels opera »La Monnaie«.
Johan Bossers is intensively involved with contemporary, experimental music theatre. First recordings of works by Giacinto Scelsi established his solo career; his internationally recognized authority for the work of Stefan Wolpe is evidenced by several CD productions, including many first recordings.
