Biography:
John fiore has been Music Director of Den Norske Opera & Ballet in Oslo since 2009. Up to this point he held the position of Chief Conductor of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. From 2000 to 2008 he was also General Music Director of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. John Fiore was born in New York and was able to show a large repertoire early on. From 1986 he worked for Zubin Mehta at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and for Daniel Barenboim at the Bayreuth Festival. Working with Leonard Bernstein was formative for him. Since conducting for the first time in 1991, John Fiore has been a welcome guest conducting the Metropolitan Opera in New York and numerous other major opera houses and concert orchestras around the world.
