Biography:
Julio Estrada, born in Mexico City in 1943, studied composition there and in Paris with Olivier Messiaen, Nadia Boulanger and Iannis Xenakis; Courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen and György Ligeti. He is a composition teacher at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where he heads an international seminar for composition theory and works as a music researcher; various guest professorships and lectureships.
