Biography:
Karl Amadeus Hartman lived in Munich from 1905 to 1963. In numerous of his compositions he brought charges against the inhumanity and arbitrariness of the Nazi regime. In 1945 he founded the musica viva concert series and played a key role in promoting contemporary music.
