harpsichord
Biography:
Marga Scheurich-Henschel was born in Schneeberg (Lower Franconia), studied at the Stuttgart Music Academy and was a prizewinner in various competitions. After her studies, she performed as a harpsichordist and pianist in the Stuttgart Chamber Music Ensemble and with the Süddeutscher Rundfunk, as well as in the Karl Münchinger Chamber Orchestra.
She became internationally known through her recordings on records and CDs. The works of J. S. Bach, many of which she recorded on CD, were always the focus of her musical creativity, e.g. The well-tempered piano (Volume 1 & 2), the Goldberg Variations or Famous Harpsichord Works by J. S. Bach. Marga Henschel also keeps in close contact with the Henschel Quartet as a fellow musician.
In the ›ensemble baroque florian prey‹ she performs together with Florian Prey (vocals) and Klaus Kämper (baroque cello). The musicians are united by their passion for the diversity and beauty of baroque music, which is still undiscovered in many areas.
