Biography:
Maria Baptist began playing the piano at the age of six, adding music theory and composition a little later. She first studied classical music, then jazz piano and then composition at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and at the New School in New York.
Maria Baptist has won numerous prizes at numerous national and international competitions and gives concerts throughout Europe, the USA, South Africa and Cuba. In addition to numerous engagements as a musician, the artist, born in 1971, has been a visiting professor at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin since 2001.
