Biography:
The piano cabaret artist, singer, moderator and composer Markus Schimpp, born in Augsburg in 1964, moves in different genres, always following the inner urge to pay full attention to the musical thought and the artistic idea of the moment. The focus is on moving, touching one's counterpart, whether it's a cabaret or a classical audience.
His musical training at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg - a time marked by numerous chamber music and orchestral performances - laid the foundation for a rather atypical musical career. After graduating in piano and oboe, he has appeared in cabaret programs or as a moderator in variety productions since 1993. From 2000 Schimpp also began to deal with composition, initially in the field of chansons, later also increasingly with music for choreographies, incidental music and short film settings.
»Yearning for Silence« is his first solo album with his own compositions.
