Biography:

Misha Damev, born in 1963, studied piano with Alexis Weissenberg in Paris and Nikita Magalov in Geneva. In 1991, on the advice of his mentor Mariss Jansons, he began to focus on conducting. After his successful debut with the National Orchestra of Bulgarian Radio and at the Sofia Opera, he worked for several years with Mariss Jansons, Georges Prêtre and Vladimir Fedoseyev as their assistant.

Mischa Damev has conducted orchestras such as: Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow (permanent guest conductor), Orchestra di San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Slovakian Philharmonic Bratislava, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, Orchester National du Capitole de Toulouse. Mischa Damev's career also includes CD productions for the ›Master-prize Competition‹ (Decca). In 2007 Mischa Damev was appointed Head of Music MGB of the Migros Culture Percentage.
