Nicolaus A Huber, born in Passau in 1939

1956 First public appearance as a composer and organist
1958-62 studied at the Musikhochschule in Munich: piano (with Oscar Koebel) and school music
1962/63 composition studies in Munich with Franz Xaver Lehner
1962-64 trainee teacher in school service
1964-67 composition studies with Günter Bialas
1965/66 work in the Munich Siemens studio for electronic music with Josef Anton Riedl
1967 composition course with Karlheinz Stockhausen in Darmstadt
1967/68 composition studies with Luigi Nono in Venice
1969 Cultural Prize for Music from the City of Munich, Lecturer in theory and analysis at the Folkwang University in Essen
1969-71 member of the ensemble Josef Anton Riedl
1970 Kranichstein Music Prize
1971 scholarship holder of the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris
1971–74 Vice President of the Society for New Music (GNM)
1974-2004 professor for composition at the Folkwang University in Essen
1975-80 collaboration with Peter Maiwald and an independent theater group: tours with political revues through the Federal Republic
1976 Development of the »conceptual rhythm composition«
1988 lecturer at the Darmstadt Summer Courses; Berlin Promotional Prize for Music
2007 »Gerda and Günter Bialas Prize« from the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts
