Biography:
Nicholas Trieb He first studied with Rudolf Gleissner in his native city of Stuttgart and continued his studies, which he completed with distinction in 1994, with David Geringas in Lübeck. He also studied with André Navarra on a scholarship from the Accademia Chigiana. Nikolaus Trieb has won prizes at several competitions and has traveled to Europe, Asia and Australia as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. Several orchestras, e.g. the Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Düsseldorf Symphony, of which he has been principal cellist since 1, engaged him for the cello concertos by Haydn, Schumann, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Gulda. Since 1992 he has taught a cello class at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
