Biography:
The Israeli contralto Noa Frenkel is a versatile artist with an affinity for a wide variety of musical styles. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance music and Mozarts Magic Flute to the music of modern times like Sunday from light by Karlheinz Stockhausen and Luigi Nonos Prometheus.
Lately she's been with Handel's Belshazzar and Judas Machabeus, Respighis Il Tramonto, Donatonis Abyss, Verdi Requiem and the song from the earth as the 2st Symphony heard from Mahler.
As a valued interpreter of contemporary music, Noa Frenkel has performed with the Ensemble Modern, the Israeli Contemporary Players, the Schönberg Ensemble, the Klangforum Wien, the Ensemble intercontemporain and the EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO, among others. Many composers wrote works specifically for her voice.
Among her numerous CD recordings there are recordings of the whole Madrigal by Gesualdo, the Notturno by Artur Schnabel and that Te Deum by Francisco Antonio de Almeida.
