Biography:

The soprano Olga Pasichnyk (Pasiecznik) was born in the Ukraine and studied piano, music education and singing in Kiev and Warsaw. In 1992 she became a soloist in the Warsaw Chamber Opera and has since sung leading roles in classical and contemporary operas in Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan with great success. She has appeared in the major concert halls in Europe such as Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Salle Pleyel, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berliner Konzerthaus, Bavarian State Opera, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Brussels), Theater an der Wien.

She has worked with well-known orchestras (Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France, Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence), Orchester National de France, Neues Orchester (Cologne), Academy of Ancient Music, Collegium Vocale (Gent ) and Freiburg Baroque Orchestra) under the direction of renowned conductors such as René Jacobs, Heinz Holliger, Philippe Herreweghe, Marc Minkowski, Krzysztof Penderecki and Trevor Pinnock. Olga Pasichnyk received numerous awards and prizes, such as the Fryderyk named after Chopin (the highest Polish award for solo recordings, 1997/2004), the Orfeusz (Warsaw Autumn Prize, 1999), the A. Hiolski Prize for the best female opera role (2004 ) and the prize of the Munich Opera Festival (2006). In 2005 she was voted the best opera singer of the 2004/2005 season by Opernwelt magazine. In addition, Olga Pasichnyk has made over 40 CD and DVD recordings for various labels.
