Biography:
Pirmin Grehl studied in Karlsruhe and Berlin with Renate Greiss-Armin and Jacques Zoon. He has won prizes at several national and international music competitions. He won first prize at the International Carl Nielsen Flute Competition in Odense in 2002. He is also a prizewinner at the ARD International Competition in Munich, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Since 1, Pirmin Grehl has been solo flautist in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
As a soloist he has played with orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Radio Orchestra. He also played numerous concerts with chamber orchestras such as the Berlin Chamber Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester. Pirmin Grehl has made recordings for various radio stations and television stations. In 2006 he made his debut in Japan as a soloist at Suntory Hall in Tokyo with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. CDs by Pirmin Grehl have been released by the Venus music, NEOS, Naxos and Profil Edition Günther Hänssler labels.
