infotext:

Archon is an open source data interface. It provides an interactive layer for Demiurge, a deep learning audio synthesis engine developed by Marek Poliks and Roberto Alonso. Archon collaborating with Demiurge makes up the bulk of the music on this album.

Archon was created on the belief that the future of music will (and is already replacing) instruments and instrumentality with algorithmic verticalities capable of deploying and recombining the literal historical totality of recorded audio according to affect-based macro categories. Music-making will need to change from a real-time experience to prompt-based audio generation, outcome management, and prepackaged conformance-driven refinement operations. In response, Archon enables a dynamic, behaviorally adaptive, interpretive relationship between a musician and a data entity—bringing intimacy, closeness, and instrumentality to the larger data management activities that will define the future of music making.

Archon is written in Python and Supercollider. Demiurge is written in Python.

All images used in the artwork for this CD and most of the text were created using AI models. They are different representations of Archon and, in the case of the lyrics, Archon talking about himself - Archon trying to describe what Archon is.
