The two musicians, jazzers, composers and also genuine improvisers Uli Johannes Kieckbusch and Günter Baby Sommer have already released their much-acclaimed duo CD "Floating Riefen, Bebende Tiefen" (2017) and then the production "" published by NEOS.Quietude Fragile« (2021) with the Baby Sommer Kiecktett, the latter expanded into a quartet with flute instruments and a viola. Now, just in time for Günter Baby Sommer's 80th birthday, they are returning as a duo (piano and drums) to their origins, to their nucleus, direct and authentic in their seemingly endless creativity. The compositions come mainly from Uli Johannes Kieckbusch. The exceptions are “Pěndulo” and “Still rest der See”, which Kieckbusch and Sommer composed together.
Günter Baby Sommer is one of the most important representatives of contemporary European jazz, who has also developed a distinctive musical language with a highly individualized percussion instrument.
Uli Johannes Kieckbusch, composer and pianist, grew up with classical music, although the music of Johannes Brahms, to whom he is related, always had a special place in his family. For himself, Kieckbusch discovered the blues early on and gradually expanded his spectrum.
