The word "arbitrary" means free, arbitrary and arbitrary - in other words, that should be jazz above all else. Here, however, improvisation is not made with the smallest musical material such as phrases or themes, but with musical auras.
In Arbitrary, the musicians “take over” with clear and to the point auras: principally the aura of Miles Davis' Electric period in the 'XNUMXs and the “wall of sound” of Albert Ayler's rhythm section (Sunny Murray and Gary Peakcock) .
Such an arbitrarily combined compilation of two such formative and fundamentally different jazz aesthetics harbors dangers, but nevertheless opens up new perceptions precisely because of the risk taken.
