In April 2018, Dr. Jürgen Schaarwaechter up classical.com: “In this case, the cross-fertilization of instrumental and vocal sounds leads to interesting new discoveries. (…) In the present four works (one of them in two different emanations) Wohlhauser traces the possibilities of the sound of the human voice and other sound producers. People hiss, whisper, hum, flageolet, various percussion instruments are used, voices and sounds grow together to form an overall sound picture. (…) Despite the different starting points, the singing voices are also understood here as an expanded tonal aspect of the instrumental - an idea that of course has a very long tradition. The possibilities of microtonalities and metrics are explored equally, but the music still has something incredibly spontaneous and lively.”
