Violin & Viola
Biography:
Roland Glassl has attracted attention as a winner of many national and international competitions. Above all, the first prize (as the first German ever) at the »Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition« deserves a mention. Invitations to festivals and concerts around the world followed, including a solo debut at London's Wigmore Hall. He first studied violin at the Music Academy in Munich with Ana Chumachenko, then viola with Atar Arad in Bloomington, USA. Since 1999, Roland Glassl has succeeded Tabea Zimmermann as professor for viola at the Frankfurt University of Music.
