Shoko Kuroe

Shoko Kuroe was born in Japan in 1971 and received her first piano lessons at the age of four. She has lived in Hamburg since 1981, where she was trained by Eliza Hansen. She has won prizes at various national and international competitions and received scholarships from the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and the ZEIT Foundation.

Shoko Kuroe performs as a soloist in Europe, the USA and Japan. She is an enthusiastic chamber musician and has also worked with well-known actors and actresses. Her interpretations are documented in international TV and radio recordings as well as CD recordings. Since 1986 she has been a guest at international festivals such as B. the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, where she also worked as a lecturer at the Orchestra Academy.

An important part of her artistic work lies in teaching music - she worked e.g. at family concerts at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, at the »Training for Education« program at the Aldeburgh Festival and at the Outreach Concerts in England and the USA.
