Biography:
Stefan Litvin, Born in Mexico City in 1960, studied in the USA and Switzerland. His international concert activities include performances with major orchestras and conductors, including Christoph von Dohnányi, Michael Gielen and Marek Janowski, as well as with chamber music partners such as Christian Tetzlaff, Jörg Widmann and the Minguet Quartet.
His pronounced commitment to contemporary music is documented by numerous world premieres and collaborations with composers such as Luigi Nono, Luciano Berio and Hans Zender. In addition, Stefan Litwin himself is extremely productive as a composer. He is a professor at the Saar University of Music and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin from autumn 2003 to spring 2005.
