Biography:

The contralto Susanne Otto studied flute and singing at the Musikhochschule Freiburg. Already during her studies she began her career in oratorios and concerts. In addition, she was intensively involved with contemporary music. She has appeared as a soloist in numerous (first) performances of the works of major composers and has sung under the direction of renowned conductors.

Their performances took place in well-known concert halls and at well-known festivals. She has performed with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden and Freiburg. She made her debut at New York's Carnegie Hall in 1999 with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Claudio Abbado. For several years she has been working regularly with early music ensembles. Her repertoire as a concert singer includes a wide variety of musical genres and eras.
